Job Summary
We are seeking an intermediate Accounts Payable Administrator at our Head Office in Abbotsford, reporting directly to the Controller. The role will handle all payables for our U.S. operations.
Key Responsibilities- Receive invoices and expense claims, verify completion and accuracy, investigate variances
- Prepare invoices for data‑entry with GL coding and enter into ERP System (Syspro)
- Collate backup documents and reports for high‑volume cheque runs
- Perform scheduled payment runs; distribute cheques promptly and efficiently
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of the accounts payable function
- Reconcile complex pre‑payments for overseas suppliers
- Maintain integrity of accounts payable data
- Reconcile vendor accounts on a regular basis
- Assist with foreign currency cash flow planning related to accounts payable
- Maintain filing system within accounts payable
- Communicate with vendors and colleagues
- Monitor outstanding PO receipts and ensure timely processing
- Prepare accounts payable reports as required by management
- Assist in implementation of Concur expense management platform
- Company credit card reconciliation and posting
- Assist with month‑end activities
- Assist with annual audit as required
- Assist with continuous improvement activities within accounts payable
- Assist with ad hoc tasks
- Work on‑site in Abbotsford manufacturing facility
- Minimum 2 years of accounts payable experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
- Experience in a multi‑entity and multi‑currency environment, including intercompany transactions
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with purchase order system
- Preferred knowledge of Syspro ERP
- Strong collaboration with purchasing department
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with freight payable an asset
- General knowledge of accounting principles an asset
- Detail‑oriented with high accuracy and ability to multitask
- Initiative and ownership in all aspects of the job
- Organized, self‑driven, and works well independently and as part of a team with strong communication skills
- Problem solver
