Itinerant Elementary Counsellor

Position: Full-Time Itinerant Elementary Counsellor
Become an Itinerant Counsellor in Abbotsford School District, supporting diverse elementary schools. This role emphasizes emotional and behavioral support for students in need.
As a key member of the District Learning Support Services, your responsibilities will include facilitating communication between schools, community agencies, and families. You’ll work collaboratively with a variety of teams to enable successful student outcomes. Your background as a school counsellor will be crucial in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment across multiple school settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing support for students’ emotional wellbeing

• Collaborate with integrated care teams and School Based Teams

• Liaise with community agencies about youth programs

• Assist families and students through referrals and support

• Engage in continuous professional development and training
Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Counselling with relevant experience

• Prior experience as an elementary school counsellor

• Training in violence/threat assessment supervision

• Eligible for certification in British Columbia

• Satisfactory conclusion of previous teaching evaluations
