In-Person Educational Assistant

Support a Grade 12 student in person for 6 hours weekly as an Educational Assistant with CHEK ABC in Abbotsford, BC. This role focuses on home education and requires reliable transport to the student's location.

CHEK ABC is a Christian Home Education and On-Line school based in Nelson. We seek an enthusiastic Educational Assistant, preferably with experience in AAC tools and emotional regulation support, to foster a supportive learning atmosphere. Depending on your qualifications, this role offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $23 to $29.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Grade 12 student with personalized learning

• Implement strategies for emotional regulation and communication

• Collaborate with the student in a home education setting

• Travel reliably to the student’s home location

• Adapt to individual learning needs and preferences

Requirements:

• Educational Assistant Certificate or Behaviour Intervention training is a plus

• Experience with AAC tools and Touch Chat is beneficial

• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Flexibility in meeting the student’s educational needs
