Role Overview

Position: Occupational Health & Safety Advisor

Reports to: Director, Operations

The Occupational Health & Safety Advisor will develop, implement, and manage the Occupational Health and Safety programs for the Operations team. This role provides coaching and training to staff while working toward OSSE certification, continually sharing knowledge on sustainability, providing continuous improvement feedback, and championing safety in our progressive family‑owned company.

• Engage and empower the workforce around the importance of Health and Safety
• Monitor, analyze, and implement effective occupational safety and health programs
• Coordinate with stakeholders to deliver training, manage risks, and develop safe work practices
• Chair monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings and facilitate Health & Safety policies and programs
• Provide OHS support to operations, engineering, and associated support departments
• Provide monthly safety reporting and document incremental savings on WCB premiums
• Ensure the completion of comprehensive, results‑focused incident/accident investigations
• Maintain effective safety communication vehicles and coach team members on OHS policy and procedures
• Manage WorkSafeBC related claims, Return to Work programs, create Training & Development standards, and more
• Introduce creative safety programs to engage staff and support company objectives
• Available to work flexible shifts and occasionally work various hours as the job requires

• You are a designated Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)

• You have great verbal and written communication skills
• You have excellent planning, analytical, and organizational skills
• You have a working knowledge of various computer applications, including Office 365 and Share Point
• You have at least two years of experience working as an OHS professional
• You have related post‑secondary education

• Occupational Health and Safety Certificate/Diploma
• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment

Salary: 69,000 - 84,000
