Senior Climate Action Specialist

Join the City of Abbotsford as a Senior Energy & Climate Action Specialist focused on sustainability and innovation. This role emphasizes community engagement, project management, and policy development in a temporary full-time capacity.

The City of Abbotsford seeks a passionate expert in sustainability to join the Environmental Services Division. You will leverage your experience to support climate mitigation and adaptation goals, implementing community energy programs and improving energy efficiency citywide. Collaborating with multiple stakeholders, your efforts will aim to make a significant impact on the community while adhering to the Council’s Strategic Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement community energy programs

• Coordinate engagement and education initiatives

• Lead efforts on BC Energy/Zero Carbon Step Code adoption

• Research industry trends and best practices

• Collaborate with community members and utility partners

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

• Minimum five years of related experience

• Knowledge of energy and climate programs

• Strong project management skills

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
