Position: Project Coordinator )

Project Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Assisting the project manager and superintendent with overall project performance including cost, schedule, safety and quality.
  • Tracks and reconciles materials supplied and delivered
  • Ensures timely accurate communication of all information and keep a record of all required documentation by city and Ministry of transportation
  • Helps the Project Manager prepare progress reports and invoices for work completed
  • Assists in the estimating process by evaluating bid specifications and drawings
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiates price
  • Reviews projects, analyzes and documents estimated vs. actual costs
  • Identify and implement efficiencies, process improvements
  • Exposure to self perform work, particularly civil, concrete and mechanical scopes
  • Willingness to travel and work on remote projects if necessary
  • Ability to work on flexible schedules, extended rotations and day or night shifts.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with our trade partners.
  • Preparing and submitting permit applications.
  • Preparing and updating project schedules.
  • Other duties as required.
What you will bring to the role
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Bachelor degree or relevant industry experience (preferred)
  • Fundamental understanding of road construction materials and practices
  • Minimum Class 5 Drivers license with a clean abstract
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction practices and paving
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Well versed with MS Office, MS Project, etc.
Working Conditions
  • Combination of office and field work environments.
  • Travels to project sites may be required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction setting.

Experience
  • project management: 1-3 years experience (preferred)
Education
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Bachelor Degree or relevant industry experience
