Project Coordinator Responsibilities
- Assisting the project manager and superintendent with overall project performance including cost, schedule, safety and quality.
- Tracks and reconciles materials supplied and delivered
- Ensures timely accurate communication of all information and keep a record of all required documentation by city and Ministry of transportation
- Helps the Project Manager prepare progress reports and invoices for work completed
- Assists in the estimating process by evaluating bid specifications and drawings
- Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiates price
- Reviews projects, analyzes and documents estimated vs. actual costs
- Identify and implement efficiencies, process improvements
- Exposure to self perform work, particularly civil, concrete and mechanical scopes
- Willingness to travel and work on remote projects if necessary
- Ability to work on flexible schedules, extended rotations and day or night shifts.
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with our trade partners.
- Preparing and submitting permit applications.
- Preparing and updating project schedules.
- Other duties as required.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Bachelor degree or relevant industry experience (preferred)
- Fundamental understanding of road construction materials and practices
- Minimum Class 5 Drivers license with a clean abstract
- Strong knowledge of civil construction practices and paving
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Well versed with MS Office, MS Project, etc.
- Combination of office and field work environments.
- Travels to project sites may be required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction setting.
