Make an impact on our Cross Border Individual Tax team as a Senior Accountant. This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework. As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide tax advice on domestic and foreign assignments that empowers client organizations and their employees to maintain regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities
Responsible for managing U.S. and combined U.S.
-Canadian individual income tax return preparation for U.S. citizens living in Canada, U.S. residents working in Canada and Canadians working and investing in the U.S.Assist in carrying out cross-border income tax and estate planningDeliver industry and technical expertise relating to Canadian and U.S. individual income tax, social security and international tax treaties through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverablesParticipate in expatriate policy design and implementation and in expatriate compensation design and implementationAdvise on Canadian and U.S. individual income tax policy and tax changesIdentify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutionsCorrespond with clients and various government agencies to address client tax compliance issuesPrepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlightsCollaborate with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlinesLead engagement teams, developing effective relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team membersContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processesParticipate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunitiesMaintain flexibility to travel, as necessarySkills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred)Completion of a CPA designation; completion of CFE examination and working towards relevant practical experience requirements will also be considered2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting or tax experienceWorking knowledge of Canadian and U.S. individual and income taxExperience working with accounting and tax software
