Position Summary:

The Relief Pharmacist assists the Pharmacy Manager and the Staff Pharmacist in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.

• Ensure excellent patient experience and locate merchandise on the sales floor.
• Establish and develop a strong working relationship with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders.
• Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from Customers, Doctors, or Hospitals.
• Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using the established workflow models, and counsel all patients on sold pharmaceutical products.
• Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
• Execute processes as per OBWs/SOPs.
• Operate all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system, etc.).
• Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follow provincial regulations established by the regulatory body.
• Ensure patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections, etc.) to meet specific patient needs.
• Follow OBW regulations as per the Relief Pharmacist program.
• Travel to various locations and follow the schedules set by the Relief Program Coordinator.
• Develop and establish collaborative relationships with other healthcare providers within the store (clinics, Vision Centre, community, etc.).

The pay range for this position is $41.60 - $55.90/hr rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.

• Age - 16 or older
• Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta:  – Additional Prescribing Authorization)
