Clinical Pharmacist - Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre
The salary range for this position is CAD $51.37 - $64.19 / hour.
We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Mission Memorial Hospital located in Abbotsford and Mission, BC.

Fraser Health, Provincial Health Services, Providence, and Vancouver Coastal health. We provide an integrated approach to pharmaceutical care and service excellence for our clients.
As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will work to provide the following services to our patients:
- Individualized pharmacotherapy
- Counselling patients about their medication therapy
- Working in collaboration with physicians and other health care providers to develop, implement, and monitor therapeutic plans
- Assisting in the development of drug therapy guidelines for individual disease conditions
- Preparing and submitting for publication in professional journals, case studies, and articles that share new knowledge
- Acting as a department resource person within your assigned area
- Participating in medication use evaluations, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical drug trials
- Providing mentorship and supervision to pharmacy students, residents, and new staff

- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

The Clinical Pharmacist provides clinical pharmacy services, including individualization of patient medication therapy, patient medication counselling, and consultation with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers to develop and discuss therapeutic plans.
Responsibilities include:
- Consulting with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers to develop and discuss therapeutic plans
- Individualizing patient medication therapy
- Providing patient medication counselling
- Assisting in the development of drug therapy guidelines for individual disease conditions
- Participating in ward rounds, program team meetings, and provision of pharmacy services at the unit level
- Acting as a department resource person in the assigned area of responsibility
- Contribute to quality improvement activities
- Performing drug distribution duties, including interpreting medication orders/prescriptions and dispensing medications
Qualifications include:
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Broad knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Knowledge of evidence-based clinical pharmacy practice
- Ability to apply clinical pharmacy knowledge and make decisions with a minimum of supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
