Job Summary

Fraser Health is responsible for the delivery of hospital and community-based health services to over two million people across British Columbia. We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Client Partner, Ergonomics to join our Workplace Health team and support the health, safety, and well-being of our workforce through evidence-based ergonomic practices and injury prevention strategies.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with leaders, healthcare teams, and stakeholders to develop and implement ergonomics programs that promote safe work environments and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries across Fraser Health.

About the Role

As the Client Partner, Ergonomics, you will provide expert consultation, education, assessment, and program leadership to support workplace injury prevention and ergonomic best practices. You will play a key role in developing and evaluating organizational ergonomics programs, conducting ergonomic assessments, and delivering training and education to managers, supervisors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate ergonomics standards, procedures, protocols, and programs, including:
    • Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention (MSIP)
    • Risk Assessment and Intervention Programs
    • Job Demands Analysis
  • Design, develop, and deliver educational programs, workshops, and training materials to support managers, supervisors, and staff in ergonomic best practices.
  • Provide consultation and expert advice to Workplace Health, operational leaders, supervisors, and employees regarding:
    • Ergonomic regulations and standards
    • Injury prevention strategies
    • Workplace accommodations
    • Reporting and documentation of ergonomic concerns
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of work environments and work processes across a variety of healthcare settings.
  • Evaluate equipment, workstations, tools, and workplace design to identify ergonomic risks and recommend practical solutions to reduce or eliminate hazards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support safe patient handling initiatives, workplace redesign projects, and organizational health and safety objectives.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and evaluate outcomes to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as:
    • Kinesiology
    • Physiotherapy
    • Occupational Health Nursing
    • Or a related field
  • Three (3) years of recent related experience in a healthcare environment, including:
    • Ergonomics program planning
    • Program implementation and evaluation
    • Adult education and training delivery
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Ergonomics or a related discipline.
  • Registration or membership in an appropriate professional association.
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ergonomics principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate adult learning and educational programs.
  • Excellent communication, consultation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively within complex healthcare environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
Reporting to the Leader, Regional Initiatives, Workplace Health the Client Partner, Ergonomics acts as a resource and provides consultation, research and educational support on ergonomics issues for the Workplace Health Team and for managers, supervisors and staff. Responsible for collaborating with other ergonomists in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of an authority wide ergonomics program.
