About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of HR & Operations, the Facilities & Safety Coordinator manages day-to-day facilities operations across FVCDC locations. The role includes managing facilities requests, coordinating maintenance and service providers, completing or arranging repairs and non-structural renovations, and coordinating facilities projects from planning through completion. The position also coordinates facilities-related health and safety activities, including building inspections, emergency drills, emergency preparedness, hazard follow-up, and corrective actions in accordance with FVCDC policies, WorkSafeBC requirements, and established safety procedures.

The role works closely with landlords, property managers, contractors, vendors, staff, and internal departments and requires strong organizational skills, practical problem-solving, sound judgment, confidentiality, and consistent follow-through.

Position Type:
Temporary, Part Time (1 Year Term). Possibility for extension or permanent position.

Fully on-site.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage facilities requests through the Facilities Helpdesk/ticketing system, set priorities, arrange the required work, keep staff informed, and follow each request through to completion.
  • Conduct regular building and site checks to identify maintenance, repair, accessibility, and other facility concerns, and arrange follow-up as needed.
  • Complete minor repairs and maintenance within a safe scope of work, including furniture assembly, shelving, painting, minor wall or fixture repairs, non-structural renovations, workspace setup, and office moves.
  • Coordinate building repairs, maintenance, and services with landlords, property managers, contractors, and service providers, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, waste and recycling, pest control, snow and ice removal, security, alarms, and custodial coverage.
  • Plan and coordinate facilities projects from start to finish, including outlining the scope of work, communications, timelines, costs, materials, contractors, scheduling, site access, safety and completion of the work.
