Fleet Maintenance Manager
The Fleet Maintenance Analyst is responsible for monitoring and reviewing maintenance and repair costs associated with Fraserway's rental fleet.
Working closely with the Service and Rentals teams
, this role reviews service work orders, estimates and internal charges to ensure maintenance and repair costs are appropriate, accurate and consistent with the condition and requirements of the rental fleet.
This is a hands-on, technically oriented role that requires strong RV Service knowledge and/or a high level of mechanical and automotive aptitude. The successful candidate will be comfortable reviewing technical work, questioning costs where appropriate, identifying inconsistencies and working collaboratively with Service and Rental leadership to ensure the fleet is maintained effectively and cost efficiently.
Key Responsibilities Work Order & Estimate Review- Review Service work orders and estimates related to defleeted rental units.
- Assess whether recommended repairs and maintenance are appropriate based on the age, condition, usage and requirements of the unit.
- Review labour, parts, sublets and other charges for reasonableness and accuracy.
- Identify unusual, excessive or inconsistent charges and follow up with Service leadership as required.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and supporting information is available for significant repairs.
- Identify opportunities to improve consistency and cost control across locations.
- Ensure best practices on repairs are communicated across all Service locations
- Monitor Rentals internal maintenance and repair costs associated with the Rental fleet.
- Review trends in maintenance spending by unit, location, type of repair and other relevant factors.
- Identify recurring or unexpected maintenance costs and bring them forward for review.
- Support Rentals leadership in understanding the key drivers of fleet maintenance costs.
- Help establish appropriate benchmarks and reporting for Rental maintenance expenses.
- Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs while maintaining appropriate fleet safety, reliability and customer experience.
- Develop strong working relationships with Service Managers, Service Advisors, Technicians and Rental leadership.
- Work collaboratively with Service teams to understand technical recommendations and repair requirements.
- Ask questions and challenge costs or recommendations when appropriate while maintaining positive relationships.
- Support consistency in how Rental fleet repairs and maintenance are assessed and charged.
- Escalate significant concerns or recurring issues to the appropriate leadership team.
- Assist in creation of defleet manuals and Rentals repair bulletins.
- Identify recurring mechanical or maintenance issues across the fleet.
- Help identify opportunities for preventative maintenance and improved fleet reliability.
- Support decisions regarding repair versus replacement of components or units where appropriate.
- Provide information and recommendations to support fleet planning and cost management.
- Assist with developing processes and tools to improve visibility and accountability for Rental maintenance costs.
- Prepare regular reporting on Rental fleet maintenance costs, trends and exceptions.
- Track key cost indicators and identify areas requiring attention.
- Recommend improvements to processes, controls and communication between Rentals and Service.
- Support the development of standardized practices for reviewing Rental maintenance costs across the organization.
