Position OverviewThe Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate production line operations. This role includes operating and maintaining packaging machinery, performing sanitation duties, and adhering to food safety regulations. The operator plays an essential role in supporting team goals and ensuring the production of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Operate various types of packaging machinery, ensuring the production process runs smoothly and safely.
- Sort and weigh packaged products to meet quality standards with minimal errors.
- Apply labels and print packaging information and transfer products to the final shipping area.
- Perform basic and weekly preventive maintenance to ensure machines are functioning properly.
- Complete necessary paperwork and log sheets in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct sanitation procedures (CIP, end-of-day cleaning) to ensure food safety and GMP compliance.
- Support other team members and ensure the smooth operation of the production line.
- Report any machinery malfunctions or production issues immediately.
- Follow all SOPs and regulatory requirements for food safety and sanitation.
- High school diploma
- 3+ months of experience in machine operation in a high-volume manufacturing environment (food, chemical, or similar industry).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate production machinery.
- Familiarity with HACCP and SQF requirements is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English (both written and verbal communication).
- Able to lift 15-20 kg and work in confined spaces.
- Forklift license is an asset.
- Intermediate First Aid (Standard) is an asset.
- Knowledge of barcode scanning procedures is an asset.
