Mill Operator

Impala Canada is the owner and operator of the Lac des Iles Mine, located 90 minutes northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario. In operation for 30 years, the LDI Mine is one of only two known pure palladium sources in North America. Palladium contributes to a cleaner global environment, with its leading use in catalytic converters that reduce harmful emissions from gas-powered and hybrid vehicles.

The LDI Mine features a unique ore body and modern infrastructure, including underground and surface mining and milling operations. The LDI Mine is in Robinson-Superior Treaty territory, and the land on which we operate is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg and the Métis. As a responsible neighbour in the Thunder Bay region, Impala Canada actively partners with local organizations, programs, and events focused on healthcare, education, and community development to help enhance the quality of life for all.

• Operate the crushing circuits, including secondary crusher, pebble crushers, and grinding circuits (SAG and Ball mills).
• Operate IT or similar loaders.
• Follow Ministry of Labour and Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations related to crushing and milling facilities.
• Safely manage and operate equipment and tools necessary for the duties of the position.
• Work as part of a team, primarily with another Mill Operator, in the primary areas of secondary crusher, pebble crushers, and grinding circuits.

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in mineral processing and milling equipment operation.
• Verbal and written proficiency in English.
• Self-motivated with a focus on safety and productivity.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $36.65, health & medical insurance, retirement savings plan, and travel allowance. Meals are provided at the mine site.
