The Role

In the role of Paint Supervisor, you will be a part of the Longboard team primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the paint department to ensure production runs safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. Your goal is to support production employees and Lead Hands by maintaining workflow, resolving operational issues, coordinating schedules, and ensuring daily production targets are achieved.

You will play a key role in supporting team performance on the production floor through hands‑on leadership, employee support, quality oversight, and ongoing communication with the Production Manager regarding production concerns, equipment performance, staffing matters, and operational challenges.

You are a hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You bring strong problem‑solving skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to motivate and support a team while ensuring production goals are achieved safely and efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, additional technical training, or a degree in a related field are pluses.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings, and production specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with ERP or production tracking software (MES).
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to program and run automated equipment.
  • Understanding of Precision Measurement Tools.
  • Track record of developing others.
  • Lean Six‑Sigma White belt and/or Green belt Certification a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO
    9001 & 14001 is a plus.
What You Will Do
  • Team Leadership:
    Supervise, train, and support paint line team members, providing clear instructions on procedures, quality standards, and safety practices. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals and expectations. Maintaining a positive and solutions‑focused work environment, and carrying out employee reviews will be an important aspect of your leadership role.
  • Production Management:
    Oversee and manage daily paint line production activities through Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity morning meetings, ensuring production targets, timelines, and quality standards are met. Adjust production schedules and allocate resources to meet demand and address workflow challenges. Work closely with the Paint and Materials supervisors to optimize workflow.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Enforce safety protocols in the paint area, ensuring team members use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices. Conduct safety training and promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Monitor product quality and conduct regular inspections to ensure that all extruded products meet specifications. Work with quality control teams to address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Drive process improvements in the Paint department, identifying opportunities to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices as appropriate.
  • Equipment Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
    Audit department machinery and equipment for proper operation, addressing minor issues as they arise. Coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs or preventive maintenance to minimize…
