Position: R&D Technologist - Technical Services & Private Label
Reports to: R&D Project Lead
In this role, you will support the development, optimization, and commercialization of products by applying strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. You will work hands‑on with lab and plant activities while contributing to a collaborative, fast‑paced R&D environment focused on consistent product quality and process improvement.
Requirements- Drive & motivation – You are passionate about food R&D and motivated to contribute to product and process improvement.
- Character & Abilities – You are proactive, self‑driven, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively, enjoy troubleshooting through data and observation, detail‑oriented, communicate clearly, and adapt to new systems.
- Knowledge & Skills – Understanding of food manufacturing processes, ability to assess ingredient functionality, experience with troubleshooting via experimentation, maintain documentation, familiarity with lab equipment, and proficiency in standard software tools.
- Experience – Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline; minimum 2 years in food manufacturing or product development.
- Nice‑to‑Have – Hands‑on experience with bakery or grain‑based systems, plant‑based ingredients, fibers, starches, or proteins, exposure to plant trials, scale‑up, or commercialization activities.
- Develop and support analytical SOPs and testing methods.
- Conduct lab and analytical testing, including sample preparation and data collection.
- Assess ingredient functionality and support formulation improvements.
- Troubleshoot technical and production issues using structured experimentation and data analysis.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of tests, trials, and observations.
- Monitor shelf life, sensory changes, and product performance over time.
- Support plant trials and assist with process validation activities.
- Operate and calibrate lab equipment as required.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to support consistent product and process outcomes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in a lab or plant environment.
- Flexibility to support plant trials (early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends).

Salary - $69,000 - $84,000
