Job SummarySeasonal (Temp) Machine Operators (T/O Standard) will be trained to monitor and operate production lines in our 10‑line operation. Over time you will receive training on additional lines to improve operational flexibility. This is a unionized position. All applicants must be able to work any shift in our 7/24 facility. We operate under a 12‑hour shift system (8:00 to 8:00) which offers a benefit of only seven workdays in a two‑week pay period, providing additional earnings compared to a standard forty‑hour per week schedule.

- Perform daily cleanup and housekeeping as directed by the Lead Hand and/or Supervisor.
- Communicate in a professional manner with all employees.
- Conduct daily checks on equipment applicable to the job.

- Visually inspect and maintain pipe printers; properly clean and service for continuous operation, including changing print codes as product changes.
- Perform quality checks using Pi‑tapes, tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other specified methods.
- Proficient use of hand tools: measuring tape, mitre‑saw, nail gun, etc.
- Operate pipe bundling and packaging equipment specific to the product being produced.
- Use overhead crane and other lifting devices.
- Obtain general knowledge of extruders and related equipment, including material loaders, hoppers, and pigment feeders, and identify possible issues with equipment to report to proper personnel.
- Learn techniques, procedures, and use of equipment from trainers appointed by a supervisor.
- Identify and remove pipe deemed as scrap, and properly document and report as required.
- Be trained and certified (in‑house) to operate a forklift and maintain certification for the duration of employment.
- Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Lead Hand.
- Grade 12 graduate – an asset.
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic mathematical competence.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms).
- OFA LevelII first aid – an asset.
- Forklift certification – an asset; training and certification in house.
- Positive attitude.

- Flexibility and adaptability to change.
Standing, using hands to touch, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; talking or hearing are frequently required. Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The job requires sustained physical activity in a moderate‑to‑loud noise environment.
Work EnvironmentNoise level is usually moderate to loud. PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other required equipment is mandatory. Exposure to outside elements and use of stairs and elevators may occur.
