The salary range for this position is CAD $60.75 - $87.33 per hour.
Job SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Critical Care Team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) in Abbotsford, B.C. The role involves collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork to provide safe, effective, and timely care for critically ill patients. ARH’s Critical Care focuses on adult patients in a 20‑bed closed unit comprising 10 ICU and 10 high‑acuity beds.
The ICU NP position is an acute‑care role working within a team to support patients admitted to the ICU, providing supportive care from an acute NP perspective to a defined population of patients.

- Diagnose and treat undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions within scope of practice; write orders for treatment and medications; provide first‑line care in emergencies.
- Monitor ongoing care; order appropriate screening and diagnostic investigations; interpret reports and analyze information.
- Establish priorities for health management; provide follow‑up treatment; communicate with patients/families about findings, diagnoses, and outcomes.
- Collaborate and consult with physicians and other health care providers; develop and implement treatment plans; admit and discharge patients per policy.
- Prescribe drugs within statutory limits and employer policies.
- Assign work to nursing and health care personnel; evaluate work; provide education and supervision; hire and assess staff performance.
- Participate in research to improve patient care and advance nursing and health policy.
- Maintain population health focus through screening and health promotion activities for at‑risk populations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary staff and nursing education through case presentations, mentoring, and facilitation.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures related to nursing and health system practices.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience
- Current practising registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Recent relevant clinical nursing experience.
