Position: Inventory Archaeologist with BC Public Service
Make a lasting impact in British Columbia as an Inventory Archaeologist with the Ministry of Forests. Protect vital archaeological resources and assist in responsible land management through collaboration and expertise.

In this full-time role, you will play an essential part in safeguarding BC’s archaeological heritage. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology or a related field with notable experience in resource management. Your work will involve maintaining the Provincial Heritage Register while fostering partnerships with indigenous groups and other stakeholders to protect historical sites effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safeguard the integrity of the Provincial Heritage Register

• Document and manage archaeological site data effectively

• Collaborate closely with First Nations and government agencies

• Utilize data to inform land-use planning and policies

• Implement strategies for heritage conservation and stewardship

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

• At least 18 months of relevant work experience

• Strong skills in GIS or related database tools

• Knowledge of the Heritage Conservation Act preferred

• Engaging with Indigenous communities is a plus
