You will be part of a passionate team at the Ministry of Forests, tasked with ensuring the accessibility and stewardship of archaeological records. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Archaeology or Anthropology is needed for this pivotal role. Collaborate with various stakeholders including Indigenous communities to meaningfully influence heritage conservation and land-use practices across the province.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate management of the Provincial Heritage Register
• Contribute to archaeological site documentation and reporting
• Engage with Indigenous stakeholders and government partners
• Support land-use decisions with archaeological research
• Assist in implementing innovative heritage conservation practices
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Archaeology/Anthropology
• Minimum of 18 months in professional resource management
• Experience with spreadsheets and GIS software preferred
• Knowledge of the Heritage Conservation Act is beneficial
• Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset
