Position: Counsellor for Family Preservation Programs
Become a Family Preservation Counsellor at Xyólheméylh in Abbotsford, BC. This term role aims at preserving family integrity and fostering healthy relationships within Indigenous communities.
This position is designed for someone passionate about working with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit families. As a Family Preservation Counsellor, you will deliver holistic support services to families in crisis, focusing on skill development in parenting and behavior management. Collaborating with community partners, you'll play a key role in ensuring children's cultural connections and rights are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement intensive family preservation treatment programs

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions

• Offer crisis intervention and ongoing assessment

• Assess and improve family home conditions

• Connect families with necessary community services
Requirements:

• Relevant undergraduate degree or extensive cultural knowledge

• At least 3 years of experience in child welfare

• Proficiency in communication and report writing

• Strong understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions

• Criminal Records Check and flexible work hours required
