Part-Time Shelter Resource Worker

Become a Shelter Resource Worker at Lookout Housing and Health Society in Abbotsford, BC. This part-time, temporary role offers hands-on support in a 24/7 emergency shelter environment.

As a Shelter Resource Worker, you will assist homeless adults facing various barriers, providing essential services and connecting them with public resources. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and supportive environment for guests while maintaining compliance with health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support and supervision to homeless individuals

• Conduct intakes and orientations for shelter guests

• Connect guests to community services and resources

• Maintain records and statistical data thoroughly

• Assist fellow staff and support new employees

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education or related certificate with 2 years experience

• Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certification required

• Familiarity with community resources and crisis intervention

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Criminal Record Clearance for vulnerable sector
