Registered Nurse Community Mental Health

Join Fraser Health as a Relief Full-Time Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse, focusing on Community Mental Health and Substance Use Services in Abbotsford, B.C. Leverage your nursing skills to provide client-centered care and support.

This position empowers you to engage with individuals facing mental illness and concurrent disorders, working collaboratively within an interprofessional care team. Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and advocate for client welfare while promoting recovery-oriented practices in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate care by conducting mental health assessments

• Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to clients

• Educate clients on managing psychiatric and substance use issues

• Facilitate crisis intervention and individual counseling

• Document observations and ensure care continuity

Requirements:

• Graduation from approved Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing program

• Two years of recent related experience preferred

• Registered with BCCNM and valid BC Driver’s License

• Ability to perform crisis intervention and assessments

• Knowledge of mental health practices and legislation
