Indigenous Child and Family Resource Worker

Join Xyólheméylh as an Indigenous Child and Family Resource Worker in Abbotsford. Focus on empowering Indigenous children and families through supportive and holistic social work practices.

In this 18-month term position, you will be part of the Out of Care Team dedicated to cultural preservation and family reunification.

Your role will include managing child placements and supporting caregivers in fulfilling permanent plan outcomes. Building relationships with Indigenous communities and maintaining cultural integrity will be vital to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate child placements by coordinating with social workers

• Search for family care options and coordinate out-of-region placements

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of services provided to families

• Develop strong relationships with children and community stakeholders

• Attend regular meetings to address placement issues and updates

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Child and Youth Care Degree

• Three years of relevant experience preferred

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Computer proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Must pass a Criminal Records Check and have valid driver’s license
