About the RoleLongboard is seeking an experienced Team Lead Software Engineer with strong Python expertise to lead a small team of developers supporting our manufacturing and business operations. Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, this role plays a critical part in designing, building, and maintaining software solutions that power inventory management, factory workflow, shipping processes, ERP synchronization, and customer-facing applications.
You will collaborate closely with operations business analyst liaisons and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and efficient technical solutions. In addition to hands-on development, you will oversee backlog refinement, provide task estimates, assign work across the team, conduct code reviews, maintain coding standards, and support release planning to ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with Longboard’s operational goals.
This is a leadership role that combines technical excellence, strategic thinking, hands-on development, and team mentorship in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
About YouYou are a highly skilled Python engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and leading others to success. You balance hands-on coding with team leadership and take pride in writing clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-documented code.
You bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- 5+ years of experience in software development or computer programming, with strong expertise in Python and ReactJS
- 5+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries
- 2+ years of Team Lead experience
- Strong testing skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ERP integration experience, ideally with Acumatica
- CRM integration experience, ideally Salesforce
- FastAPI experience
- AWS experience
- ARGO CD experience
- Experience with AI-assisted coding, including code generation, debugging, testing, and review
You are collaborative, investigative, technically strong, adaptable, and solutions-oriented. You are comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams, communicating technical guidance, listening to team feedback, and developing solutions that meet evolving business needs.
What You Will Do- Lead a small team of developers, distributing and prioritizing tasks within JIRA
- Review and refine the JIRA backlog alongside the Business Systems Manager
- Provide task estimates and support release planning
- Conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions
- Develop and maintain applications supporting manufacturing operations, inventory management, factory workflows, shipping processes, ERP integrations, APIs, and internal and external web platforms
- Identify system bottlenecks and resolve defects
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and maintain technical documentation in Confluence
