Bulk Goods Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspection and oversee all vehicle aspects.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
• Use citizen band (CB) radio for communication.

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience.
• Valid driver’s licence (Class1/1F/A for semi‑trailer trucks).
• Valid driver logbook and inspection reports (pre‑trip, en‑route, post‑trip).
• Experience driving manual transmission vehicles.
• Willingness to travel for extended periods and overnight.

• Class1/1F/A Licence (semi‑trailer trucks).
• Dry bulk and tractor‑trailer operations.

• Work site environment:
  Dusty.
• Work setting:
  Various locations, on the road.
• Physically demanding duties.
• Weight handling:
  Up to 23kg (50lbs).
• Sitting required.

• Early morning, morning, day, and weekend shifts.
