Student Safety Crossing Guard

Position: Student Safety Crossing Guard Role
Support student safety as a Crossing Guard, actively assisting pedestrians at designated crossing sites. Engage outdoors in varying weather conditions while promoting traffic safety.

In this position under the Transportation Manager, you will oversee crossings during assigned hours, ensuring students safely navigate roads. It’s crucial to follow established traffic regulations and coordinate pedestrian movements with traffic. You will also report any incidents to the Principal and participate in meetings as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage designated crossings ensuring safety

• Adhere to all traffic safety regulations

• Coordinate pedestrian flow with vehicles at intersections

• Document and report behavioral incidents and hazards

• Attend requested staff meetings

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or an equivalent credential

• Must clear a criminal record check

• Enjoy working closely with children and families

• Possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods outdoors
