Position: City Equipment Operator III

In this pivotal position, the Equipment Operator III will utilize a variety of heavy-duty machinery essential for the upkeep of city roads and utilities. You will ensure operational safety through diligent inspections and routine servicing of the equipment. Additionally, mentoring other operators and supporting municipal activities will be part of your responsibilities, contributing to community service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate graders, backhoes, and other heavy machinery

• Conduct pre-trip inspections and routine servicing of equipment

• Accurately read maps and manage service records

• Train fellow operators in safe equipment handling

• Support diverse municipal operations as required

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education

• BC Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement

• Expertise in operating heavy equipment like Gradalls

• Full proficiency of equipment to be achieved within two years

• Strong focus on safety and maintenance standards
