The role:
AIS as a global leader in testing services, is now further expanding its testing services in and within the automotive and energy sectors. As part of this, AIS is seeking a Senior Battery Test Engineer to lead the delivery of advanced battery testing programmes and support the continued growth of these testing sectors.
What will you do as our Senior Battery Test Engineer?- Lead the setup, development and execution of complex battery testing procedures and engineering services.
- Prepare, review and present clear, accurate technical reports and provide engineering recommendations based on test results.
- Lead collaboration with cross-functional technical teams and customers to ensure effective test setup, requirement alignment and successful project delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to support the development of new testing capabilities, methodologies and operational processes.
- Support line management with technical planning, resource allocation and project delivery to ensure programmes are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across battery testing activities, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, capability and quality.
- Maintain and champion health and safety standards within the department, including the development, implementation and governance of new procedures.
- Lead customer-facing testing activities, providing technical guidance, resolving complex issues and delivering high-quality results and insights.
- BSc in an engineering with relevant professional qualifications.
- Experience in the design, development, validation and execution of battery test solutions.
- Strong experience with battery systems, associated electronics and laboratory test equipment.
- Experience with CAN communication systems, vehicle networks and the setup of integrated vehicle logging systems.
- Proficient in data analysis using industry-standard battery testing and automation tools (e.g. Vector, MATLAB / Simulink, C and Excel).
- Qualified to work on high voltage DC (automotive) systems.
- Able to effectively prioritise multiple activities and deliver against challenging deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Salary up to £60,000.00 per annum depending on experience
