Rehabilitation Support Worker Aberdare
Contract: Permanent
Location: Aberdare
Hours per week: 15 hours per week
Working pattern: Two x 7.5 hour shifts Monday & Tuesday
Pay per hour: £14.50 (Day hour rate 7am to 11pm)

About the roleAs a Rehabilitation Support Worker you will play a key role in supporting a client’s independence and quality of life. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the client with cooking and day‑to‑day household tasks
- Encouraging and assisting the client to access the community, gym, and activities
- Supporting the client’s rehabilitation by completing therapy tasks set by the multidisciplinary team
- Helping to plan and develop meaningful daily activities
- Providing positive behavioural support, including offering time and space when the client feels frustrated
The client experiences some cognitive difficulties and receives support from an occupational therapist and neuropsychologist. The worker should respond calmly, positively, and with patience.

- Confident in supporting rehabilitation goals
- Flexible and able to work occasionally at short notice to cover sickness or annual leave
- Willing to support holidays and short breaks
To join as a Rehabilitation Support Worker you will need to:
- Be able to drive and have use of a car.
- Drive the client’s vehicle.
- Have experience of supporting a person with a brain injury.
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
- Be registered or willing to register with Social Care Wales.
- Above the industry average for pay
- Mileage rate 45p per mile
- Work directly for a client and not an agency (unlike most agency work you will spend quality time with your client which can make a real difference)
