1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) Wanted

Academics are currently recruiting for a passionate 1:1 TA to work alongside a pupil at a Welsh medium primary school in Aberdare, starting from November 2025. The role will be full time and long term, initially until Christmas Term, but will be extended until the end of the academic year, with a permanent role also a possibility.

The pupil does not have behavioural needs. He needs 1:1 support as he has Sensory Processing Disorder, meaning that he needs constant supervision, mostly to ensure he stays on his feet.

The role of a TA

Assist the teacher in delivering successful lessons
Work with pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
Build and maintain professional relationships with other staff members
Be a role model to all pupils

What we need from you

Fluent Welsh Speaker
An enhanced DBS check (essential) which is subscribed to the DBS Update Service (desirable)
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
Two recent and professional references

Experience of working in either an SEN or education setting
