We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Protection and Control Engineer with an active Professional Engineer (PE) license to lead and execute advanced engineering tasks for high-voltage substation projects in the United States. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in protection and control (P&C) systems, the ability to sign and seal engineering documents, and an advanced command of English for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and U.S.
-based clients.
- Lead the design and analysis of protection and control systems for transmission and distribution substations.
- Prepare and review protection schemes, logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and relay settings.
- Approve and seal engineering deliverables under PE authority, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
- Coordinate closely with system protection, SCADA, communications, and substation design teams.
- Perform fault studies, coordination analysis, and relay setting calculations using industry-standard software.
- Develop technical specifications, bill of materials, and commissioning documentation.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Support clients and construction teams during testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure all designs comply with NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and client-specific requirements.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus preferred).
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state (multi-state registration desirable).
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in protection and control engineering for utility or EPC substation projects.
- Deep understanding of protective relaying principles, control schemes, and communication protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, etc.).
- Proficiency with electrical design and analysis tools such as SEL AcSELerator, ASPEN One Liner, ETAP, or similar.
- Advanced English level, both written and spoken.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with North American utilities or large-scale EPC projects.
- Familiarity with NERC and FERC compliance standards.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in digital substations and automation systems.
