Avyanna Technologies is seeking an experienced Penetration Tester to join our cybersecurity team supporting Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The successful candidate will perform advanced penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and security assessments across networks, applications, and systems operating within secure government environments.

This position is 100% on-site in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
Telework is not available.

• Perform hands-on penetration testing and technical security assessments of systems, applications, and networks.

• Identify, exploit, and document vulnerabilities to evaluate system defenses.

• Analyze and interpret network traffic and communications using tools such as Wireshark and Burp Suite.

• Utilize industry-standard tools and custom scripts to simulate real-world attacks.

• Conduct testing in virtualized environments (VMware, Virtual Box, ESXi).

• Prepare clear, actionable technical reports outlining findings, risks, and mitigation recommendations.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams and government stakeholders to enhance system security posture.

• Adhere to strict operational security protocols in a no-personal device SCIF environment

• Active DoD Secret Clearance (required) and eligibility to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
  .

• Minimum 5 years of experience in penetration testing or technical cybersecurity assessments.

• Proficiency with penetration testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Wireshark).

• Strong understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software
  .

• Intermediate knowledge of Linux and Windows internals
  .

• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Virtual Box, ESXi).

• Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a secure environment.

• Active TS/SCI clearance
  .

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, or equivalent).

• OSCP or equivalent penetration testing certification.

• Foundational knowledge of cryptography and secure communications.

• Scripting or programming experience (Python, Java, C/C++, Bash).

• Experience with
  reverse engineering, code analysis
  , or hardware exploitation (chip-off, fault injection).

• Familiarity with COTS/GOTS radios
  , SDRs
  , and RF concepts
  .
