About the RoleCBRE is looking for a Facility Maintenance Technician to keep a large commercial building running smoothly. The role involves preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems. The position supports energy efficiency, compliance with safety codes, and equipment installations and modifications. Ideal candidates have basic mechanical experience, strong organizational skills, and the physical ability to handle manual tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
- Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
- Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
- Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
- Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety laws.
- Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems and communicate clearly.
- Impact the team through defined duties, methods, and tasks as described in detail.
- Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience, GED, or trade school diploma with 1‑2 years of job‑related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
- Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products:
Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and managing work orders through a CMMS. - Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
