The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a well-established organisation undergoing transformation and growth within its finance function. This role offers excellent variety and would suit either someone moving from audit/accountancy practice or an experienced Financial Accountant seeking a new challenge. You will support financial reporting, statutory accounts, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives, including finance automation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare statutory financial accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Produce financial statements and disclosures in line with IFRS.
  • Support annual external audits and respond to audit queries.
  • Prepare monthly management information and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain financial controls and general ledger processes.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with taxation requirements and prepare returns.
  • Monitor cash flow, banking activities and forecasting.
  • Contribute to finance systems development and automation initiatives.
  • Provide support across the wider finance team during peak periods.
About You

You will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Essential Requirements
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts under IFRS.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial controls knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
  • Public sector finance experience.
  • Power BI experience.
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience.
  • Finance automation and process improvement exposure.
  • External audit experience.
