Great British Energy is seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to support our Chair and CEO. These are high‑profile roles at the heart of the organisation, providing essential coordination, organisation, and logistical support to ensure senior leaders can operate effectively and at pace.
As an Executive Assistant, you will play a critical role in the day‑to‑day rhythm of the organisation - managing complex diaries, co‑ordinating competing priorities, and ensuring the seamless delivery of meetings, engagements, and travel. You will keep operations running smoothly, maintaining strong organisation and attention to detail in a demanding and fast‑moving environment.
Working closely with the Business Manager and wider Executive Office, you will help manage the flow of information, support senior engagements, and ensure the Chair and CEO are fully prepared for their commitments. You will also work flexibly across both principals where required, contributing to a collaborative, resilient team model.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to senior leadership and play a key part in how the organisation operates - supporting delivery, enabling decisions, and ensuring focus on what matters most.
Key Responsibilities Executive Support and Coordination- Manage complex, fast-moving diaries for the Chair or CEO, ensuring priorities are accurately reflected and time is used effectively.
- Run inboxes and incoming requests, triaging actions and ensuring timely responses and follow‑up.
- Provide seamless day‑to‑day support, enabling senior leaders to operate efficiently and at pace.
- Organise and coordinate a high volume of meetings, ensuring all logistics, materials, and participants are aligned in advance.
- Prepare and collate briefing packs, schedules, and supporting information to ensure the Chair and CEO are fully prepared.
- Track actions from meetings and engagements, maintaining momentum and ensuring follow‑through.
- Plan and deliver end‑to‑end travel and engagement logistics, including itineraries, accommodation, and on‑the‑day coordination.
- Ensure all visits and events run smoothly, proactively managing risks and last‑minute changes.
- Attend and support in‑person meetings and engagements with the Chair and CEO around the UK as required.
- Work closely with the Business Manager and wider Executive Office to coordinate priorities and maintain a clear forward look.
- Support the overall rhythm of the organisation, including leadership meetings, events, and key organisational activities.
- Provide flexible support across both Chair and CEO where required, contributing to a collaborative and resilient team model.
- Maintain accurate records, systems, and organisational processes to support effective information flow.
- Identify opportunities to improve ways of working, contributing to a well‑organised, high‑performing Executive Office.
- Act as a professional and approachable point of contact, representing the Executive Office with credibility and care.
- Proven experience providing proactive, high‑quality administrative or executive support, managing complex diaries, inboxes, and logistics in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and ensure nothing falls through the gaps.
- Experience co‑ordinating meetings and senior engagements, including scheduling, preparing materials, and tracking actions through to completion.
- Ability to work at pace with accuracy, remaining calm under pressure and adapting quickly to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship skills, with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders and represent the Executive Office professionally.
- Experience supporting senior stakeholders or leadership teams, with exposure to fast‑paced or high‑profile environments.
- Experience working in a central coordination role (e.g. Private Office, corporate office, or operations team), managing competing demands and priorities.
- Confidence managing complex logistics and travel arrangements, including high‑profile visits or events.
- Familiarity with preparing briefing materials or supporting meetings, including tracking actions and maintaining forward plans.
- Proactive approach to improving ways of working, with an interest in systems, organisation, and making processes more efficient.
