Position: Patient Navigator (Receptionist)
Location: Aberdeen City

Patient Navigator

Part‑time (38 hours per week) role at Great Western Medical Practice, Aberdeen.

About the role

You will form part of the front‑of‑house team to provide patient‑focused telephone and administration services that assist and direct patients in accessing appropriate healthcare professionals. The role involves managing patient flow, handling communications, and supporting administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors, advise them of appointments, and check them in.
  • Advise patients on self‑check‑in facilities.
  • Receive and make calls, handling heavy phone/patient traffic.
  • Divert calls and take messages as appropriate.
  • Sort, review, and distribute incoming internal mail.
  • Process outgoing mail following procedure.
  • Pull, file, and photocopy patient paper records.
  • Scan and attach patients’ data to electronic records.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy and ready for use by other colleagues, together with any hand‑over information.
  • Receive all incoming deliveries, open and distribute accordingly.
  • Complete the Surgery Administration, including registrations and deductions.
Qualifications
  • Desirably prior experience as a patient navigator.
  • Confident using the telephone.
  • Good level of IT skills.
  • Friendly, welcoming, patient, and understanding.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Work accurately and methodically.
  • Ability to work with all types of people.
  • Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
