Regional Business Development Manager
Location: Hybrid working from the prestigious Aberdeen Office.
Salary: £Negotiable depending on industry knowledge

Penspen are looking for their next Regional Business Development Manager with 10+ years in the Engineering & Energy sector.
Main Purpose of RoleReporting directly to Europe Region Sales and Marketing Director you will play a pivotal role in developing the vision for business growth for our Europe Region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for UK Business Development management leadership and for managing the UK Business Development performance across the Region
- Regional leadership in the important areas of Business Development and support systems implementation including:
- Target Account Management and Area Business Development; supporting both the Penspen Europe and C&I businesses,
- Regional Business Development strategy; with a focus on Scotland, the North Sea and Northern Europe,
- Opportunity management through our CRM platform,
- Region Strategic Business Planning Process,
- Responsible for delivering and cross selling Engineering & Project Management (E&PM), Asset Integrity (AI), Digital Integrity Services (THEIA), Asset Management (AM) and C&I revenue targets across the region.
- Owns the UK Regional client relationship plans and engagement.
Strategies, Processes, Business Goals
- Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing clients.
- Support the development of the regional BD strategy, Identifying market segments, services and clients.
- Seek, develop and maintain relationships with potential clients including in person engagement.
- Primary point of contact for all owned opportunities.
- Develop and implement the strategic plan.
- Work with the business units to identify any long-term business goals, such as new customers or new services,
- Continue to ensure that BD procedures and processes are adhered and fit for purpose.
Tenders, Proposals & Projects Execution
- Identify and agree with Region Sales and Marketing Director and Business Units management target prospects.
- Secure invitations to qualifications and tenders for target prospects.
- Advise critical purchasing criteria and tendering process to Manager of Proposals.
- Support the development of Proposals using intelligence and project knowledge gained.
- Support negotiation of commercial terms and ensure conditions are optimal.
- Coordinate sales and marketing activities of all stakeholders, including but not limited to region sales and marketing team, Business Units management and Region management.
Collaboration
- With the Regional Sales and Marketing Team.
- With the Regional Service Lines and their respective leadership (C&I, E&PM, AI, THEIA, and AM).
- With other members of the Region, other Regions, and Sidara.
Business Profitability
- Maintain the profitability of the business; manage overhead costs to ensure the efficient running of the business.
- Identify opportunities that Penspen can pursue and deliver profitably.
Working with other Regions
- Manage the interaction with the wider Penspen business network in the context of business opportunities for Penspen and C&I.
- Desirable Engineering or Business Degree, with sufficient experience to understand, discuss and represent high level technical subject matter,
- More than 10 years energy industry experience in Engineering,
- Desirable focused experience in Brownfield markets, including markets such as, but not limited to, engineering design for controls and instrumentation, process, and mechanical, asset integrity and asset management,
- More than 10 years regional experience,
- Desirable focused experience in regions such as, but not limited to, the North Sea, Scotland, Scandinavia and the Baltics,
- Able to travel within the UK and Europe on regular basis,
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to make independent decisions,
- Excellent organisational, fluent communicator with strong presentation preparation and delivery skills,
