As a global leader in commercial payments that powers international business by moving money with ease, Convera is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to support B2B sales across the UK.
Role & Responsibilities- Sales Strategy & Execution:
Contribute to sales strategic planning and business development initiatives; develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand the client base; manage the entire 360‑degree sales process independently; maintain knowledge of FX market, compliance, legislative, and broader business/economic trends; surface and understand customer pain points to present/match Convera solutions. - Lead Generation & Prospecting:
Use market data and Convera’s value proposition to identify new leads and opportunities; achieve key performance indicators (KPIs); identify and engage prospects in SME and Corporate sectors; proactively seek new opportunities via cold calls, networking, referrals, exhibitions; use Salesforce, Highspot, Zoom Info; present and demonstrate international payment solutions to key decision-makers. - Relationship Building & Management:
Introduce relevant support functions such as CRM, Corporate Hedging Manager, Sales Leaders to clients; build and maintain long‑term relationships; collaborate with partnership teams; provide ongoing consultation; manage new customers until transition to CRM team; participate in industry events. - Negotiations & Contract Management:
Lead and influence negotiations with clients; ensure contracts compliant; monitor performance; maintain documentation in SFDC. - Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with internal teams (bid, assurance, pre‑sales, care); provide market feedback; work with Global Segment leads and product partners. - Reporting & Analysis:
Maintain accurate forecasts; track performance metrics.
- 5+ years B2B sales experience in international payments or financial services.
- 3‑6 years in FX, payments, or financial markets.
- Extensive sales experience within a global organization with a network of senior contacts.
- Proven ability to navigate gatekeepers to reach C‑Suite.
- Strong sales management, business acumen, and strategic account management skills.
- Knowledge of international payments and foreign exchange products.
- Financially astute with knowledge of business needs/concerns.
- Proficient in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently to achieve/exceed KPIs and revenue targets.
- Willingness to attain Level 3 CISI Certificate and/or Level 4 CISI Certificate within 6 months of hire.
- Experience working in financial institutions, hedging solutions, or management consulting services.
- Familiarity with Miller‑Heiman strategic selling framework or similar methodologies.
- Detailed knowledge of geographical banking environment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA a plus.
