Strategic Sourcing Specialist – Buying/Procurement

We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to negotiate with suppliers, manage supplier panels, and support procurement activities within an engineering/manufacturing environment for oil and gas extraction.

• Defining supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels.
• Leading negotiations and allocating needs to specific suppliers.
• Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement.
• Managing claims; including commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. and may also include purchasing activities.
• Advising Functional managers or other Functions regarding approaches, processes and procedures in the own field.
• Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems.
• Leading as a project leader of medium sized projects or major contributor to bigger projects; goals typically take 3‑6 months to complete and the time horizon for results/impact is typically 2‑12 months after the event.

• Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with experience in sourcing).
• Strong work experience in Direct sourcing/ procurement.
• Possess experience in Commodity Management.
• Experience in ERPs like SAP or Oracle.
• Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence others and lead small teams.
• Be able to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
• Permanent work permit in the UK.

• 4 days from office 1 day from home.
