Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a well-established and highly respected construction business with a strong reputation across Scotland, is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a business delivering a diverse portfolio of high-quality construction projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, residential and public sectors.

Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you'll gain exposure to projects from pre-construction through to final account while developing your commercial and contractual expertise within a supportive environment.

• Assisting with the commercial management of construction projects from inception to completion.
• Preparing and submitting interim valuations and applications for payment.
• Assisting with subcontract procurement, tender analysis and appointment.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs, forecasts and cash flow.
• Supporting the preparation of cost reports and commercial updates.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
• Assisting with contract administration under standard forms of contract.
• Building strong working relationships with site teams, clients and subcontractors.

• A minimum of 2‑3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry.
• Experience working for a main contractor.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
• Strong numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
