Rate: £500-£550 per day Umbrella PAYE (Inside IR35)
Location: Aberdeen
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days working from home
Contract: Until 31 December 2026 initially, with potential extension
Hours: 42 hours per week
Start: ASAP

Our client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major project being delivered in partnership with SSE, supporting the construction of two substations and associated buildings in the Peterhead area.

The project is currently in pre-construction, with construction due to commence in October. This is an interim requirement to provide additional commercial resource while the project progresses.

Job Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of significant subcontract packages associated with the project.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing major subcontract packages from a commercial perspective
  • Commercial management of a groundworks package valued at approximately £22m
  • Managing a steel/envelope package valued at approximately £13m
  • Subcontract administration under NEC3 Option A
  • Managing valuations, variations, change and commercial reporting
  • Monitoring subcontractor performance, costs and contractual obligations
  • Working closely with the wider commercial and project delivery teams
  • Supporting the project as it transitions from pre-construction into construction
  • Maintaining effective relationships with subcontractors, the client and key project stakeholders

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong experience managing large-value subcontract packages
  • Demonstrable experience working with NEC3 Option A contracts
  • Strong subcontract administration and commercial management experience
  • Experience managing groundworks, civils or structural packages would be advantageous
  • Experience with the CEAR software package for subcontract administration would be advantageous
  • Previous experience within substations, power, energy or major infrastructure would be beneficial

    Comfortable working from the Aberdeen office three days per week

This is an initial contract until 31 December 2026, with the expectation that the requirement could be extended as the project progresses.
