Aberdeen City Council's Creative Learning team is seeking an imaginative and experienced artist or creative practitioner to collaborate with Dyce Primary School on an exciting initiative.
This project is funded through Pupil Equity Funding (PEF) and aims to develop a dynamic, inclusive, and inspiring creative environment within the school, where learners can explore ideas, build confidence, and engage in hands‑on making.
Project Aims- Support learner wellbeing through creative expression and play
- Encourage curiosity, collaboration, and problem‑solving
- Provide opportunities for hands‑on learning across a range of materials and disciplines
- Empower pupils to take ownership of their ideas and learning journeys
- Build upon a sustainable model for creative engagement that can grow with the school community
We’re looking for someone who can help bring this vision to life by co‑designing and delivering engaging, inclusive creative experiences with pupils and staff.
Proposed disciplines- Visual arts
- Design and technology
- Digital media
- Craft and textiles
- Applied theatre
- Dance artist
- Or any other creative practice that encourages making and doing!
- Experience working with children, ASN learners and young people
- A collaborative, flexible approach to creative learning
- A passion for inclusive, imaginative environments
- The ability to contribute to the development of a sustainable makerspace model.
Location:
Dyce Primary School, Aberdeen
Timeline:
Project delivery between October 2026 – July 2027 on Thursdays & Fridays during term time.
Fee: £7200 + £300 materials budget
Final date to receive applications:
Friday 31st August 2026 at 5pm
