Location: Aberdeen City

Specialty Doctor Fixed Term for 9 months

NHS Grampian is seeking a motivated Specialty Doctor in Ambulatory Care / Acute Medicine to join our dynamic team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a progressive department that is expanding its ambulatory care service and delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

You will provide senior clinical cover for the Rapid Access Acute Care (RAAC) service within the Acute Medical Initial Assessment (AMIA) area. RAAC operates from 09:00 to 22:00 daily, and we require continuous cover from a Consultant or SAS‑grade doctor during these hours. Flexible work patterns can be discussed, and additional sessions in AMIA and Short Stay Medicine are available for suitably qualified candidates.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assessment, treatment, and appropriate onward referral or discharge of patients attending RAAC/AMIA/Short Stay Medicine
  • Supervision and teaching of resident doctors and advanced nurse practitioners
  • Development of ambulatory care pathways and participation in quality improvement projects
  • Contribution to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes
