- MA in Communication Studies (Instructor) or PhD in Communication Studies (Assistant Professor) – or closely related field
- ABD with a definite completion date will be considered
- Commitment to undergraduate education
- University‑level teaching experience preferred
- Ability to conduct research in the candidate’s area of expertise
- Specialization open; expertise in strategic event communication, digital media and communication platforms, and/or health communication particularly encouraged
- Teach twelve credit hours per semester in introductory and upper‑level Communication Studies courses, including CMST 101 Fundamentals of Communication and upper‑level courses
- Contribute to developing interdisciplinary components within the Communication Studies curriculum
- Engage in research and scholarly activity
- Provide career advising and foster connections with community organizations
- Maintain a strong campus presence and support student recruitment and retention efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned, including teaching First Year Seminar
