Location: Aberdeen City

Aberdeen Arts Centre is looking for a Creative Learning Facilitator to deliver engaging drama and performance-based sessions for young people and adults.

This is a practical delivery role, focused on creating a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment where participants can build confidence, creativity and performance skills.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver weekly classes and support seasonal projects or performance sharings, working closely with the AAC team to ensure sessions are safe, well organised and enjoyable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Facilitate weekly classes for young people and/or adults.
  • Plan and deliver inclusive drama and performance workshops.
  • Support participants to develop confidence, creativity and performance skills.
  • Help deliver seasonal projects, sharings or performances.
  • Adapt sessions to suit different needs, abilities and confidence levels.
  • Maintain registers and support basic class administration.
  • Communicate clearly with participants, parents/carers and AAC staff.
  • Follow safeguarding, wellbeing and health and safety procedures.
  • Raise any concerns promptly with the appropriate member of staff.
PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential
  • Experience facilitating drama, theatre or performance workshops.
  • Confidence working with groups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Warm, inclusive and supportive facilitation style.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Enthusiasm for live theatre and creative participation.
Desirable
  • Experience working with children, young people or community groups.
  • Experience supporting performances or sharings.
  • Safeguarding, First Aid and Health & Safety training.
  • PVG scheme membership, although a new check can be completed by AAC.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

A formal qualification in drama, theatre, education or community arts would be welcome, but is not essential. Practical facilitation experience is more important.

TERMS

Hours:

12 hours per week, with additional hours to be agreed around key classes, performances and festivals throughout the year.

Salary:
Salaried part time position, equivalent to £13.85 per hour.
