The Opportunity:
An opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Veterinary Nursing in the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences based at the SRUC Aberdeen campus. The main purpose of this post is to lecture and instruct Veterinary Nursing students; input to other allied veterinary programmes may be required in line with the business needs of the school. While applicants with a SCQF Level 9 bachelor's degree in veterinary sciences is ideal, applications from highly motivated and qualified Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary professionals with relevant practical experience and extensive knowledge of the industry are also welcome.
Teaching experience would be beneficial though full training will be provided. You will grasp the opportunity to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations and ambitions that will build on current strengths within the school, and across the institution.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Delivering Teaching & Learning Arranging/organising and developing materials for teaching as required Delivering lectures to students at a variety of levels Delivering programmes of education and training including teaching a wide range of practical skills to a high standard as well as classroom teaching to appropriate academic standards Interacting with students to check knowledge and understanding Providing constructive feedback to learners on their performance Preparation for Classes Preparing schemes of work and lesson plans Preparing teaching and practical materials for demonstration/student work Guidance and Support Acting as year tutor for students Maintaining records of students attendance and achievements Providing course induction to students
Minimum Qualifications:
Educated to SCQF level 9 bachelor's degree in veterinary nursing, or veterinary science Part-time hours may be considered for this appointment For full person specification, please download the job particular document Eligibility for Sponsorship:
