Operations & Maintenance Lead
Wood is seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Lead with direct experience managing, coordinating or supporting maintenance delivery for heavy assets in upstream, midstream or downstream oil & gas contexts.
This staff role is based in Aberdeen with hybrid working, requiring three days a week from the Aberdeen office.
RoleYou will coordinate a global delivery team across Operations & Consulting Business Units within Wood, ensuring delivery of Optimised Energy maintenance advisory and asset management support.
Clients and Projects- Embed skilled advisors within client organisations

- Act as subject matter expert in maintenance discipline and reliability systems, applying best practices
- Support delivery of projects, manage client relationships, report on opportunities and risks
- Champion continuous improvement, adhere to management systems, provide feedback
- Assist line manager in achieving annual business goals and contribute to regional business planning
- Maintain strong safety culture, manage team development, empower employees
- Ensure robust Management of Change processes and foster learning culture
- Lead bid/tender activities, strengthen customer relationships, adopt seller‑doer approach
- Model ethical behaviour, manage mentor direct reports, support recruitment
- Degree in Engineering, Scientific Discipline or related technical field with significant experience in asset operations environment
- Direct experience managing, coordinating or supporting maintenance delivery of assets, particularly upstream or downstream
- Understanding of analytical techniques applied to maintenance and reliability systems for optimisation
- Interest in digitalisation and AI techniques to deliver value at pace
- Broad understanding of Energy industry region and strong networking & relationship building with Operations customer base
- Proven customer‑facing communication experience
- Knowledge of HSSEA, regulatory and legislation applicable in industry, with maint
AI deployed - Team building skills – motivating people, enabling cross‑functional best practice within Wood teams
- Influence and challenge others to behave consistently with Optimised Energy objectives
