Purpose
Working within a global team Core Technologies team, the Welding Engineer will provide expert knowledge of all aspects of welding, including relevant techniques and their application as well as support during tenders, preparation of documentation and overseeing qualifications.
Job DescriptionResponsible for all welding requirements within the Core Tech VSO Support Group including R&D, standardisation, specification development, tendering, qualification, project execution and supplier support.
Work closely with Engineering, Sourcing and Supplier Quality - internally, regionally and globally - in ensuring a lead role in the provision of welding-related expertise as required including taking a lead role in welding technical audits and ensuring welding requirements are developed with and fully understood both internally and externally.
Work closely with Sourcing and Supplier Quality to ensure that the welding-related aspects of qualification activities are effectively executed and support continuous development of existing and new welding processes for Technip
FMC.
Take a lead role in welding-related failure investigation and root cause analysis activities, ensuring they are managed, understood and resolved in a logical and timely manner.
Proactively work across the organisation to identify, drive and lead welding-related improvement projects and opportunities.
You are meant for this job if:Experience in a technical special process-related engineering role.
Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EWE & IWE Qualification
NDT Qualification
Understanding of NDE Processes used within the industry.
Ability to define welding-related problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions using Lean Process & Product Development (LPPD).
Effective collaboration and communication with both internal customers and suppliers as well as working with other disciplines on welding and related special process requirements and strategies in the supply chain
