Lead Civil and Structural Designer

Working within a team, but often with minimal supervision or guidance, the fundamental requirement of this role is to lead the production and develop civil and structural CAD design deliverables, including 3D models, technical drawings, and sketches for pipeline projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparation of design solutions for all project stages from Concept to Detailed Design in 2D/3D for civil and structural, temporary, and permanent works as requested by Senior/Principal or Lead Engineers. Use Aveva E3D for 3D BIM modelling and 2D drawing extraction and/or Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD for some elements of civils design. Work within a Common Data Environment. Ensure that draughting activities are executed within budget and schedule, while maintaining technical integrity.

Ensure that work is carried out with relevant codes, standards and procedures. Maintain and develop awareness of current relevant codes and standards. Implement company, and where applicable client/project policies and procedures. Effectively communicate with other disciplines to ensure that interfaces are clearly defined and correctly designed. Liaise with other departments, project personnel, vendors, clients etc. You will be based in the Aberdeen office with facility to work remotely and with occasional visits to other offices and site in line with project requirements.

The candidate will have:
Qualified to City & Guilds or HNC/HND level. Eng Tech or IEng ICE professional qualification an advantage.

Experience of 4D simulation, construction sequencing and clash detection software beneficial.
